August 28th
Israeli Luncheon: Our welcome event for new Freshmen and anyone else interested in Hillel! We will be in the Shelnutt Galery (Room 3606) on the third floor of the Rensselaer Student Union from 12:00 to 2:00pm. Come see what Hillel is all about!
September 2nd
Ice Cream Social: It is what it sounds like. Come meet some new Jewish friends and have some delicious ice cream on Wednesday, September 1st at 8:00pm.
September 6th
BBQ at Prospect Park: On Sunday, August 31st we'll be meeting at the Gazebo on Freshmen hill at 1:00pm and walking over to Prospect Park (it's only a few blocks) for some good food and fun! If anyone likes to BBQ let us know and you can help out! Please RSVP so that we have an idea of how much food to get and let us know if you'd like a vegetarian option. We should be back on campus by 4:30, but if you need to come back early, transportation can be arranged.
September 11th
Friday Night Dinner & Services: Stop by for an semi-formal Friday night service at 6:30pm in the Rensselaer Union Room 3510 followed by a delicious dinner prepared by the local Chabad House.
September 18th-20th
Rosh Hashanah Services: We will be organizing groups to go to the Reform, Conservative, and Orthodox Temples for Rosh Hashanah Services. The service times and meeting locations will be listed below as that information becomes available to us. We will be meeting 30 minutes before services begin at the designated locations. Directions to the synagogues can be found here if you wish to attend independently. Please don't forget to bring your student IDs with you to services or you may not be admitted.
September 27th-28th
Yom Kippur Services: As with Rosh Hashanah, we will be organizing groups to go to the Reform, Conservative, and Orthodox Temples for Yom Kippur Services. October 2nd
Sukkot Dinner & Services: We will be having dinner and services in our very own Sukkah next to the Gazebo on Freshman Hill. It's gonna be cold, so please dress accordingly.
October 16th
Shabbat Dinner & Services: Stop by for an semi-formal Friday night service at 6:00pm in the Rensselaer Union Room 3502 followed by a delicious dinner prepared by the local Chabad House.
October 18th
Laser Tag: Hillel will be going to play Laser Tag. We will be playing at Zero Gravity in Albany on Central Ave. $5 per game with student ID. Meet at the horseshoe at 1pm. We will provide transportation. We should be back around 4:15pm. Please RSVP to me by Friday 10.16 if you are interested in coming so we can arrange carpools.
October 23rd
Family Weekend Shabbat Dinner & Services: Stop by for an semi-formal Friday night service at 7:00pm in the Rensselaer Union Room 3202 followed by a delicious dinner prepared by the local Chabad House. Families are welcome.
October 25th
Family Weekend Brunch: Hillel will be hosting a sunday brunch for student and families. It is in Union room 3202 from 10-2pm. There will be bagels, cream cheese, tuna salad, egg salad, and more. Students and family members are all welcome.
